Telegram connector
Send notifications from your site to a Telegram chat or channel via a bot — order alerts, lead notifications, sign-up pings.
Send messages from your site to a Telegram chat or channel through a bot. Perfect for instant "ping me when something happens" notifications.
Setup
In Settings → Connectors → Telegram:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Bot Token (secret) | Create a bot with Telegram's @BotFather (/newbot) and copy the token (looks like 123456789:AAH…). |
| Chat ID | The chat or channel to send to. Add your bot to it, then get the ID from a helper bot like @userinfobot (channels look like -1001234567890). |
Your token is encrypted on the server and never appears in your site.
Example prompts
Just describe the trigger in chat — no special syntax needed — and Genesis wires the Telegram call into it:
- "DM me the name, email, and message whenever someone submits the contact form via Telegram"
- "Notify my Telegram channel when an order is completed — include the product and total"
- "Send a Telegram message when a visitor books a call"
- "Alert me on Telegram on every newsletter signup"
What gets wired
A safe, fire-and-forget call in the trigger's handler:
window.estageConnector('telegram', 'send_message', {
text: `New lead: ${name} — ${email}`,
});
Message text supports a subset of HTML (<b>, <i>, <a href>).
Use cases
- A contact form that DMs you each submission.
- Order alerts to a private channel your team watches.
- Sign-up / booking pings so you never miss a new lead.
Note
Republish your site after configuring so the live site picks up the connector. Not configured yet? The call simply does nothing until you add your token — the page never breaks.
