Easy Pay Direct
Connect Easy Pay Direct — the security keys and webhook signing key from the merchant portal, the card form buyers see, and what to handle in the portal.
Easy Pay Direct charges cards entered in a card form on your page — on order forms, paid meetings and the online store — through your own Easy Pay Direct merchant account.
| Where | What Easy Pay Direct does |
|---|---|
| Order forms | One-time products, subscriptions, free trials and coupons. Buyers see it as Card, with card number, expiry and CVV fields. |
| Paid meetings | The booking is paid on the page. A cancelled booking is flagged Refund by hand, and you refund it in the merchant portal. |
| Online store | The storefront checkout. |
Before you start
- An Easy Pay Direct merchant account with access to its merchant portal.
- Testing. ESTAGE has no separate test connection for Easy Pay Direct. Ask Easy Pay Direct whether your account can run test transactions, or make a small real purchase and refund it in the portal.
- Business Details. Easy Pay Direct can't be ticked on an order form until every required field in Business Details is saved.
Getting your keys
ESTAGE asks for three values from the merchant portal:
| In ESTAGE | In the merchant portal |
|---|---|
| Private Security Key | A security key you create for API access |
| Public Security Key | A public security key |
| Webhook Signing Key | The signing key shown in the portal's webhook settings |
- Sign in to the Easy Pay Direct merchant portal and open the security keys settings.
- Create a private key with API permission and copy it.
- Create or copy a public key and copy it.
- Open the webhook settings and copy the signing key.
The portal's menus depend on your account. If you can't find a key, ask Easy Pay Direct support for "a private API security key, a public security key and the webhook signing key".
Connecting Easy Pay Direct
- In Genesis, open Settings → Payment Processing.
- On the Easy Pay Direct card, select Connect.
- Paste the Private Security Key, the Public Security Key and the Webhook Signing Key.
- Select Connect My Account.
Easy Pay Direct connected appears and the card shows ACTIVE. ESTAGE saves the keys without checking them with Easy Pay Direct, so a wrong key shows up only when a buyer tries to pay — make a purchase right after connecting.
From your CRM it's the same: Settings → Payments, Connect on Easy Pay Direct, the same fields, then Connect.
Webhooks
There's no webhook to add in the portal. ESTAGE doesn't receive events from Easy Pay Direct, so changes you make in the merchant portal — a refund, a cancelled subscription — aren't sent to ESTAGE, and the order and the access it granted stay as they were. When you refund or cancel there:
- if the access should end now, remove it on the buyer's contact record in the CRM;
- for a store order, select Record a refund on the order — see Refunds and cancelling.
Turning Easy Pay Direct on for products
- In the CRM, open Products and then the product.
- On the Pricing tab, add Easy Pay Direct under Payment providers.
- Pick the price and currency, then select Update. For a monthly or annual product, saving creates its plan in your Easy Pay Direct account.
- In the order form, tick Easy Pay Direct in step 2.
Easy Pay Direct can charge in AUD, CAD, CHF, DKK, EUR, GBP, NOK, NZD, PLN, SEK and USD. With other providers chosen too, the Currency menu keeps only the currencies they all share.
Going live and switching accounts
- Connect Easy Pay Direct and turn it on for an inexpensive product.
- On your published site, buy it with a real card.
- Check the order in the CRM under Orders, then refund the payment in the merchant portal.
To move to another merchant account, disconnect Easy Pay Direct, connect it with the new keys, then add Easy Pay Direct back under Payment providers on each product and select Update — subscription plans are created in the new account when you save.
Things worth knowing
- Buyers stay on your page. They type their card into the form there; there's no pop-up or redirect.
- Paid bookings aren't refunded automatically. Cancelling one flags it Refund by hand in Bookings; refund it in the merchant portal.
