Insights

Updated October 25, 2026

The analytics dashboard for your published site — visitors, traffic, speed, scroll depth and friction, and what you need before it shows anything.

Insights is the analytics dashboard for your published site. It shows who visits, where they come from, how fast the pages load for them, how far they scroll and where they get stuck, so you can see which pages work and which need a change.

Insights opens in its own browser tab. You reach it from:

  • Settings → Overview — the Insights card, Open Insights ↗
  • Settings → Analytics — the link below the 7-day snapshot
  • The builder's ⋯ menu — Insights

Close the tab with the × in its header to return to the project.

Before it shows anything

Insights reads real visits to your live site, so it needs two things:

  1. Web analytics turned on — in Settings → Analytics, where you pick a plan. Until it's on, Insights shows Enable analytics, which turns on the free plan. The tracker goes onto the site the next time you publish.
  2. A published site with visitors — until the first visit arrives, Insights says "Waiting for your first visitors" and gives you the site link to share.

Until both are true, the Insights card on Settings → Overview shows Set up or Analytics settings in place of Open Insights ↗.

Note

Production traffic usually lands on your own domain, not the ESTAGE subdomain. Without a custom domain, Insights shows a Connect a custom domain for production tracking banner and only counts visits to the subdomain.

Choosing what you look at

At the top of the page:

  • Date range — presets from Last hour and Today to Last 180 days, This week, Last month, Year to date and All time, or a custom range. Last 7 days is the default.
  • Page — the page the per-page cards (scroll depth, top clicked elements, scroll heatmap) describe. It lists the pages that have had visits.

Numbers refresh every 15 minutes. The live cards refresh on their own while the tab is open.

What the Overview tab shows

Card What it tells you
Visitors, Page views, Sessions, Session duration, Bounce rate The headline numbers for the date range
Speed cards — Main content loads, Reaction to clicks, First paint, Layout stability How fast the site was for real visitors (LCP, INP, FCP, CLS), rated Good, Needs work or Poor. Each number is what 3 in 4 visits got or better
Traffic chart Unique visitors, page views or sessions over time, grouped by hour, day, week or month
Active users per minute and Live activity The last 30 minutes, with the top sources sending traffic right now
Devices, Browser share, Browsers, Operating systems, Viewports What visitors used to view the site
Countries A world map and ranked list of where visitors came from
Active hours Unique visitors by day of week and hour, in UTC
Scroll depth The share of visitors reaching each quarter of the selected page
Rage clicks and Dead clicks Friction: repeated clicks out of frustration, and clicks on things that do nothing
Top clicked elements The most-clicked elements on the selected page
Top pages The most-visited pages, with each page's bounce rate
Scroll heatmap A screenshot of the selected page with bands showing how far visitors scrolled, for desktop or mobile, plus the median scroll depth

The scroll heatmap renders a fresh screenshot of the page the first time you open it, which takes about 30 seconds. After that it's cached.

Fixing a page from the numbers

When few visitors reach the bottom or middle of a page, the Scroll depth card says so and offers a button such as Ask AI to move it up or Ask AI to strengthen the top. It opens the builder on that page in a new tab with a prompt ready in the chat box. Nothing is sent until you read it and press Send.

Who can see Insights

Insights is for project members whose role includes analytics access. The plan is the project owner's — other members see the data but can't change the plan. See Analytics.

Things worth knowing

  • Banners about the plan. When the visitor cap is reached or the plan is paused, tracking stops until the next billing cycle or until you change the plan; when a payment fails, you're asked to update the card; after you cancel, tracking continues until the end of the period. Each banner has Manage plan. You also get a warning once 80% of the period's visitor cap is used.
  • Turning analytics off keeps the history. It removes the tracker from the live site right away; turning it back on picks up where you left off.
  • Cookie consent changes what's counted. See Session replays and consent.
  • Session recordings are on their own tab — see Session replays.
