Look, navigation & about page
Theme colors and logos, the top menu and landing page, sidebar widgets and the promo banner, custom emojis, and the About page for members and guests.
These are the settings that decide how your community looks and how people find their way around it — use them to bring the community in line with your brand and to put the most useful places one click away. All of them live under Settings → Community Settings, except the sidebar widgets and the promo banner, which you edit right on the feed.
Before you start
- You need to be the community's owner, or hold a role with the matching permission — see Things worth knowing for which permission covers what.
- The Featured Ad and Upcoming Events widgets need the Business Plus plan.
Theme & styles
Settings → Community Settings → Styles opens Theme & styles.
- Pick a theme from the list: Light Theme, Dark Theme, Custom Theme, or one you saved earlier.
- Adjust the colors. Every color has a Reset. The palette covers buttons (Primary Color, Text on Primary), backgrounds, borders, input fields, text, navigation, widgets, icons, hover states and the overlay on restricted posts.
- Optionally set a Theme logo — it overrides the default logo from General Settings for this theme only — and its Logo size.
- Save:
- On Custom Theme, Save as new template stores your colors as a named theme.
- On Light Theme, Dark Theme or a saved theme, Update settings saves the changes. Delete theme removes a saved theme.
Custom Theme and saved themes have extra options:
- Site background — a Background image across the site, with Position (Top / Center / Bottom) and Opacity.
- Modal popup — Background blur, a Background overlay with its color, and a Drop shadow.
Choosing what members see
- Set as default makes a theme the one every member starts with.
- Use the default theme for everyone stops members from picking another theme — everyone sees the default.
Navigation
Settings → Community Settings → Navigation edits the menu.
- The dropdown at the top picks what you're editing: the Main Feed menu (the top navigation bar), or a channel's menu (shown while that channel is open).
- Quick add puts in a ready-made item: Feed, Courses, Videos, Resources, Opportunities, Events, Members, Leaderboards, Affiliate, About.
- For anything else, type a Custom label and a URL — an internal path starting with
/or a fullhttps://address — and click Add. - Drag items to reorder them. Each item can open in a new tab.
- Default landing page (Main Feed only) is where members land after signing in, and where the logo links.
If you own the community and have ESTAGE Rooms Signature, the Main Feed list has one
more row: Account menu · your ESTAGE Rooms app download. It's the download item in each
member's account menu, not in the top bar. Change its label, point it to your own app's download
page (a full https:// link), or click the X to hide it; Quick add → ESTAGE Rooms brings it
back.
Note
Items without a name or with an invalid link are dropped when you save — if an item disappears after saving, add it again with a label and a valid link.
Sidebar widgets and the promo banner
The column beside the feed is made of widgets. On the feed, click Manage Widgets to switch them on or off and drag them into order:
Channel Info, Group Info, Featured Ad, Online Members, Leaderboard, Upcoming Events, Member Blaze, Additional Links, My Progress.
Note
Featured Ad and Upcoming Events need the Business Plus plan. Without it they show greyed out in Manage Widgets and can't be switched on.
Inside a channel, Use for all channels copies the current layout to every channel, and Reset to default makes a channel follow the community default again. Editing a channel's widgets detaches it from the default.
Featured Ad is your promo banner. With the widget on, edit it in place: the pencil icons change its header, Cover image, Title, Description and Button (text and link). The eye icon hides or shows it — you always see it while editing, members only when it's shown.
Custom emojis
Settings → Community Settings → Custom Emojis holds your own emoji set. They show up in the emoji picker of the post composer.
- Click Add Emoji.
- Enter an Emoji Name and pick the image (Select File). A 20 × 20 px SVG works best.
- Click Create.
The name identifies the emoji: saving another one with the same name replaces it.
About page
Settings → Community Settings → About Page builds the community's About page.
- Two versions: For members and For guests. Each has its own content, so visitors can get a pitch and members a welcome.
- Main section — a video (from your ESTAGE video library or an external URL), audio, a cover image, or None, plus formatted text.
- Add section for more blocks; the X removes one.
- Import from share code pulls in an About page someone shared with you, then opens it.
Add About to the menu from Navigation → Quick add so people can reach it.
Things worth knowing
- Theme, navigation, emoji and widget changes reach every member as soon as you save.
- The Theme permission covers Styles; Custom emojis covers the emoji set; Navigation & sidebar covers the menu and the main feed's widgets; inside a channel, widgets fall under Channels & categories; Promo banner covers Featured Ad; the About page falls under Name, about & branding. See Community roles & permissions.
