Firebase connector

Updated October 15, 2026

Connect your own Firebase project — Firestore, Authentication, and Cloud Storage — to power dynamic features on your site.

Connect your own Firebase project so your site can use Firestore, Authentication, and Cloud Storage.

Setup

In Settings → Connectors → Firebase, paste your web config (Firebase console → Project settings → Your apps → Web):

Field What to enter
apiKey, authDomain, projectId, appId From the Firebase web config object.
storageBucket (optional) Needed for Cloud Storage uploads.
Service account (optional secret) Lets Genesis deploy Firestore security rules for you.

Note

The web config is public by design — security comes from your Firestore Security Rules. Genesis can help you write and deploy them.

Example prompts

[Firebase: store contact submissions in a Firestore "leads" collection]
[Firebase: add email/password sign-up and login]
[Firebase: let users upload images to Cloud Storage]
[Firebase: show new comments live as they're added]

Genesis writes the Firebase SDK code, so you get real Firestore reads/writes, auth, and realtime onSnapshot updates.

Use cases

  • A Firestore-backed form or app.
  • User sign-up / login.
  • File uploads to Cloud Storage.
  • Live updates (realtime listeners).

Republish your site after configuring.
