Chat panel features

Updated October 15, 2026

Everything the chat panel can do beyond plain messages — the slash menu, attachments, suggestion chips, checkpoints, and error fixing.

The chat panel is more than a message box. Here's everything built into it.

The / slash menu

Type / in the composer to open a menu of ready-made building blocks. Pick one (arrow keys + Enter, or click) and it drops a starting prompt into the composer — a quick shortcut when you'd rather pick from a list than type it out. You never have to use it: describing the block in plain words works just as well.

Entry What it adds
Rich Text An editable WYSIWYG content block
DRM Rich Text Protected rich text (anti-copy, for paid content)
ESTAGE Video An ESTAGE-hosted video player
Video Library ESTAGE Video API integration — grids, playlists, search
Courses ESTAGE Courses — catalog, lessons, progress
Live Stream A live broadcast player (one per page)
Live Chat A real-time chat widget
Webinar Live stream + live chat together
Order Form A payment/checkout form — see Order Forms
Meeting Booking A Calendly-style scheduler — see Meeting Booking
Product List An editable, data-driven catalog grid
Live Controls Expose a selected component's options as sidebar controls
Backend feature A Dedicated Cloud feature — database, auth, realtime
Syndicate Embed A shared block from the Syndicate marketplace
Claude Design Import a claude.ai/design handoff and rebuild it

Keep typing after / to filter the list.

Attachments

The paperclip button attaches images to your message:

  • Upload a screenshot or mockup — "make my hero look like this".
  • Browse your assets, search Unsplash, or generate an image.
  • Attach multiple images and Genesis asks what to do with each.

Suggestion chips

Above the composer, Genesis offers a row of click-to-fill suggestions based on your recent conversation and the page you're viewing. Click one to load it into the composer, or hide them with the toggle. (Turn them off entirely in Settings → Brand & AI.)

Ask mode and "Build this now"

When you ask a question, Genesis answers without touching your site — marked with an Ask badge. If the answer describes something you want done, the reply includes a Build this now chip that turns it into an actual build request, one click.

Checkpoints on every change

Every AI turn that changes files shows a ±N files badge — expand it to see exactly what was created, modified, or deleted, and revert that specific turn if needed. Details in Version history & undo.

Fixing errors

If something breaks in the preview, you'll see the error with a Fix this error action — click it and Genesis diagnoses and repairs it. You can also just type "fix this".

Composer basics

  • Enter sends; Shift+Enter makes a new line.
  • While Genesis is working you'll see live progress (files touched, current phase).
  • A selected element scopes your message to it — see the visual editor. The element panel has its own mini-composer too, with a placement picker (Inside / Replace / Below) when you use / commands there.

The element library

The chat panel can also flip into a Section Library for browsing pre-built sections and dragging them straight onto the page, and an installer for Syndicate blocks (shared components you add by pasting a share code).
