Razorpay

Updated October 25, 2026

Connect Razorpay — generating the Key ID and secret, test and live mode, turning it on for products, and what to handle in the Razorpay Dashboard.

Razorpay takes payments through Razorpay's checkout window on your order forms, paid meetings and online store, into your own Razorpay account. It's the gateway to pick for prices in Indian rupees.

Where What Razorpay does
Order forms One-time products with coupons, and subscriptions with free trials. Subscriptions take no promo codes.
Paid meetings The booking is paid on the page. A cancelled booking is flagged Refund by hand, and you refund it in Razorpay.
Online store The storefront checkout.

Before you start

  • A Razorpay account. Razorpay issues live keys only once it has verified your website details.
  • Test or live. Razorpay has a test mode with its own keys, and ESTAGE takes either kind. Test keys let you try a purchase without real money.
  • Business Details. Razorpay can't be ticked on an order form until every required field in Business Details is saved.

Getting your keys

  1. Sign in to the Razorpay Dashboard and switch it to test mode or live mode.
  2. Open Account & Settings → API Keys (under Website and app settings).
  3. Select Generate Key.
  4. Copy the Key Id and the Key Secret, or download them. The Dashboard shows only the Key Id afterwards; a lost secret means generating new keys.

Razorpay's guide: Generate API keys.

Connecting Razorpay

  1. In Genesis, open Settings → Payment Processing.
  2. On the Razorpay card, select Connect.
  3. Paste the Key Id into Key ID and the Key Secret into Secret Key.
  4. Select Connect My Account.

Razorpay connected appears and the card shows ACTIVE. ESTAGE saves the keys without checking them with Razorpay, so a typo shows up only when a buyer tries to pay — make a test purchase right after connecting.

From your CRM it's the same: Settings → Payments, Connect on Razorpay, the same fields, then Connect.

Webhooks

There's nothing to set up: ESTAGE doesn't add a webhook to your Razorpay account. That means changes you make in the Razorpay Dashboard — a refund, a cancelled subscription — aren't sent to ESTAGE, and the order and the access it granted stay as they were. When you refund or cancel there:

Turning Razorpay on for products

  1. In the CRM, open Products and then the product.
  2. On the Pricing tab, add Razorpay under Payment providers.
  3. Pick the price and currency, then select Update. For a monthly or annual product, saving creates its plan in your Razorpay account.
  4. In the order form, tick Razorpay in step 2.

Razorpay can charge in AUD, BGN, CAD, CHF, CNY, CZK, DKK, EUR, GBP, HKD, HUF, INR, JPY, MXN, MYR, NOK, NZD, PHP, PLN, RON, SEK, SGD and USD. With other providers chosen too, the Currency menu keeps only the currencies they all share — INR, for one, is Razorpay's alone.

Testing and going live

  1. Connect Razorpay with your test keys and turn it on for a product.
  2. On your published site, buy the product in Razorpay's test checkout.
  3. Check the order in the CRM under Orders.
  4. To go live, disconnect Razorpay, connect it with your live keys, then add Razorpay back under Payment providers on each product and select Update.

Things worth knowing

  • No promo codes on Razorpay subscriptions. A buyer who enters one is told "Promo codes can't be used for a subscription paid with Razorpay. Choose another payment method, or clear the code." Coupons work on one-time products. If a subscription needs a coupon, offer another gateway beside Razorpay.
  • Cancelling a subscription in Razorpay isn't reported to ESTAGE. The charges stop, but ESTAGE still shows the order as it was; end the buyer's access in the CRM yourself.
  • Paid bookings aren't refunded automatically. Cancelling one flags it Refund by hand in Bookings; refund it in Razorpay.
