ESTAGE Rooms
The ESTAGE Rooms desktop app for Mac and Windows — video calls and live shows from your community, with screen sharing, drawing on the shared screen, background blur, a lobby, viewers, recording and going live.
ESTAGE Rooms is the desktop app for meeting, presenting and streaming. It works like Zoom or Google Meet: start a room, send the link, people join. The rooms belong to your community, so the same calls are reachable from the community portal and the community's mobile apps, and recordings land in your Estage Video library.
People you invite don't need the app. An invite link is a web link — it opens in any browser. The app is for hosting rooms, and for joining them with the full camera and screen-sharing toolkit.
Getting it
Download it at genesis.estage.com/download/rooms. The page works out which build your computer needs and puts it under the main button.
| Platform | What you get |
|---|---|
| Mac | A .dmg for Apple Silicon or Intel. Signed and notarised by Apple: open it and drag ESTAGE Room to Applications |
| Windows | An installer for any PC (Intel, AMD or ARM), or a smaller one for just 64-bit or just ARM. Windows 10 or newer. Not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen warns the first time — choose More info, then Run anyway |
The app keeps itself up to date: a new version downloads quietly and is in place the next time you open the app. It never restarts in the middle of a call.
Joining a room
Type the room's code, or paste the link you were sent. You don't need an account to join: enter your name, check your camera and microphone on the pre-join screen, and knock. You wait there until the host lets you in.
Starting a room
Start a room needs your ESTAGE account: sign in, pick the community the room belongs to, and start. Rooms are private — the link lets people knock, it doesn't let them walk in.
- Invite — copy the link or the code and send it. Guests who knock appear as a red count on People and as a toast with Admit / Deny. Admit all lets the whole queue in.
- People — mute someone, or remove them from the room.
- Open to viewers — a second link for people who only watch, like a webinar. Viewers don't take a seat in the room, don't need a camera or microphone, and can number in the hundreds.
In the call
| Share your screen | A window or a whole display, in full quality |
| Draw on the shared screen | Mark up what you're showing; everyone sees the strokes |
| Background and touch-up | Blur the background (or blur it strongly), put a picture behind you, and touch up your appearance. These are saved as preferences, so the next room starts with them on |
| Record | The recording goes to your Estage Video library. Each room in the app's list shows its recordings — Processing… until the video is ready |
| Go live | Stream the room to your community as a live post. The audience watches there, and from the app you run that post's chat, show a poll, or pin a call-to-action button |
Your own branded copy
ESTAGE Rooms Signature on the Genesis marketplace is the same app as a desktop project of your own: change it from the chat, build installers with your own name on them, and hand out your own download page. The ESTAGE video room option in Meeting Booking needs it. See Desktop apps for how desktop projects are built and shipped.
Troubleshooting
- Mac: camera, microphone or screen sharing doesn't work. Allow ESTAGE Room under System Settings › Privacy & Security (Camera, Microphone, Screen & System Audio Recording), then quit and reopen the app.
- A guest can't get in. They are probably waiting in the lobby — open People and admit them.
- Something went wrong on Windows. Send support the log at
%APPDATA%\estage-room\logs\main.log.
