Auto-generate Apple touch icon (iPhone home-screen icon) from the site favicon

Under reviewMobile apps

Customer requests that Genesis automatically create an Apple touch icon from the uploaded favicon, so the site shows a proper icon when added to an iPhone or iPad home screen. They also ask that custom head tags be kept when site settings are saved. Current behaviour: iPhones don’t use the favicon for home-screen shortcuts. Without an Apple touch icon, iOS shows a page screenshot or a plain letter tile. Requested: when a favicon is uploaded, Genesis generates a 180×180 PNG version and adds the apple-touch-icon tag to the site’s head automatically. Related: the customer reports that custom head tags they add (for example, a manual Apple touch icon tag) are removed when site settings are saved. They’d like custom head code to be kept.
