**IPS Management** is where you license your course content to others. A licence hands another
community a copy of your courses; you decide who gets one, and you can take it back.

Use it when you sell your program to other community owners, so they can run it for their own
members.

Open **Settings → IPS Management**.

## Before you start

- **Be on the Business Plus plan.** IPS Management needs it.
- **Be an admin, or hold the Course licences permissions** in [roles](https://support.estage.com/community-roles): **View
licences**, **Issue, approve & revoke licences**, and **Linked product & access tags**.
- **Have the product and CRM tags** a licence stands for ready — you link them during setup.

## Setting up

1. Under **License Keys**, click **Generate New Key**. The key appears with a copy button and the
date it was generated. You only need one.
2. In the linked product section, pick the **product** a licence corresponds to and the CRM
**tags** that come with it, then click **Save**. This decides what a licence holder gets access
   to.

## Handling licence requests

The requests table lists everyone who asked for a licence, with their **Name**, **Email Address**,
**Date Requested** and the **Request** status, with a **Total** count. Use the **Sort By** menu to
show **All**, **Pending**, **Approved**, **Rejected** or **Revoked** requests, or search.

For each request:

- **Approve** — grants the licence.
- **Reject** — turns down a pending request.
- **Revoke** — takes back a licence you approved.

> **Caution**
>
> Rejecting or revoking also removes your licensed courses from that community — for all of its
> members.

When you reject or revoke, pick a reason — **IPS license wasn't purchased.**, **IPS license purchase
was refunded.**, **You've initiated a chargeback for IPS license purchase.** — or **Custom**, and
optionally add your own text.

The owner of the requesting community is emailed about each decision. The email carries your community's branding — the logo
and reply-to address from [General Settings](https://support.estage.com/community-general-settings) — and is signed as the
licensor.

## Sending course updates to licence holders

A course you license out has extra controls in its **Edit Course** window. **Push IPS Update** and
**Revoke from IPS** need the Business Plus plan.

- The tag picker limits the course to licence holders who have one of the CRM tags you pick. With
no tags, it goes to all licence holders.
- **Push IPS Update** — copies the course, with its modules and lessons, to every approved licence
holder. Holders who already have it get your latest version; the others receive it as a new
  course.
- **Revoke from IPS** — removes the course from every licence holder's community.

## Licensed courses in the receiving community

In a community that holds a licence, the licensed course appears like its own course. Instead of **Delete Course**, its card menu offers
**Hide Course** / **Show Course** to the community's admins. When you push an update, their copy
is updated.

## Things worth knowing

- **Rejecting and revoking send the reason** you picked in that email, so choose one that explains
  the decision.
